With the Tesco Stronger Starts Apprenticeship you’ll get a full-time job, earning £22,501.44 (pro rata), as well as a Level 2 National Standard in Retail qualification.You could even become a Shift Leader at the end of your 12-month apprenticeship (length will depend on your contracted hours).

As part of the programme, you’ll get a tablet device to complete a range of learning modules. You may also need to gain Maths and English qualifications called Functional Skills, which are equivalent to GCSEs. These are completed in-store as part of your daily work, so you can learn and earn at the same time.

The lowdown on the programme
The apprenticeship is based in-store and takes at least 12 months to complete. You’ll spend time doing a range of activities such as marketing, business and technology. You’ll also gain hands-on store experience, picking orders, restocking, and supporting customers and community events. The programme is open to anyone aged 16 or over who’s interested in starting a career in retail. Once you’ve completed the programme, you'll gain a Level 2 National Standard in Retail – equal to 5 GCSE passes.
Salary: Starting salary of £22,501.44 pro rata.
Hours: You have the option to choose between 36, 28 and 21 hour contracts when applying
Holiday: 20 days pro rata plus a personal day and bank holidays, rising to 22 days after 12 months (pro rata)
