Medichut offer a range of work experience opportunities generally aimed at  those looking to apply to medical school.  The sessions are suitable for students aged 16-18.  For those students aged under 16 parental consent is required. 

Session 1: Psychiatry

Monday 8th July, 14:00-15:00

The aim of this medicine work experience session is to introduce you to the field of psychiatry. Through interactive cases, you’ll learn about psychiatric conditions, relevant history taking, examinations, and diagnostic tools. Students will have the opportunity to participate in diagnosing simulated patients.

Session 2: History Taking

Thursday 11th July, 18:00 – 19:00

This history-taking medical work experience aims to provide you with practical skills in gathering patient histories through engaging case studies. This will enhance your ability to communicate effectively, understand patient concerns, and develop clinical reasoning. This experience will prepare you to conduct thorough and empathetic patient interviews, a crucial aspect of effective healthcare.

Session 3: Abdominal X-Rays

Wednesday 17th July, 18:00 – 19:00

The aim of this medicine work experience session is to introduce you to abdominal plain films. Through interactive case studies, you’ll learn how to assess a normal abdominal X-ray, and will understand features of abnormality. Students will have the opportunity to diagnose patient cases based on abdominal x-ray findings.
