University College Birmingham is delighted to announce the continuation of the £5,000 Cost of Living Allowance now available for students joining the university in 2026, designed to help ease the financial challenges faced with rising costs of higher education and living expenses.

The Cost of Living allowance - will be available to first year full-time undergraduate students starting in September 2026, who are eligible for funding under the terms of Student Finance England and who will pay their fees via a UK student loan (see this link for more information).https://www.ucb.ac.uk/student-support/financial-support/cost-of-living-allowance/ 

Students may also be entitled to up to £800 worth of additional support through our Kick-Start Scheme. 

What’s currently offered at University College Birmingham? 

Our core curriculum offer at undergraduate level includes engineering, construction, digital, cyber, computer science, health, social work, sport, nursing, physiotherapy, paramedic science, psychology, tourism, hospitality, food, nutrition, culinary arts, aviation and airport management, education, creative studies and a vast range of business, marketing, leadership, accounting and finance courses.
